WM “The Restaurant” – Dining Review

My first thought was; what is the significance of WM in naming this restaurant? I was told that the WM stood for West Maui and that they would be “The Restaurant” in West Maui. A lofty goal as competition between fine dining restaurants, not only in West Maui, but island wide is very keen indeed. The list of things a fine dining restaurant must do to rise to the top is formidable, to say the least. Little things like lots of free parking in a convenient location, a knowledgeable professional wait staff, Chefs with years of schooling and experience behind them, a menu that offers a selection of many different preparations to delight the most discerning palate, a comfortable relaxed atmosphere that creates an ambience that enhances your collective dining experience, from original artwork that adorn the walls to culinary still life displays, all these things factor into the total dining experience. All of this and more has been accomplished under the watchful eye of general manager David Smith, who is a Chef himself. Angela Smith is the Pastry Chef and is responsible for the ten mouth-watering desserts that you will find on the menu. To be the best anything one must pay close attention to details and it’s obvious as soon as you walk through the door that David and his staff have done this to the “nth” degree. I’m supposed to tell you about specific great tasting dishes on the Menu, but everything on the Menu tastes great. You must judge for yourselves, is WM “The Restaurant” THE restaurant in West Maui, or all of Maui for that matter? Oh yes, WM “The Restaurant” has the largest most complete wine selection anywhere. Even if you don’t drink wine, the attractive display when you enter is most impressive. WM puts the “fine” in dining and you will be talking about it long after your WM dining experience. |
